Patches of my Heart

You can never fully prepare for death when it arrives. I suppose that must be the case for witnessing it and going to the beyond yourself. Recently I lost a very dear friend of mine. She’s been my best friend since I was seven and was the one I told all my secrets too. Her name was Patches and she was a beautiful half Persian half, domestic cat. Her captivating blue eyes never dimmed as she gracefully aged and her pride never diminished the sense of love she gave. Patches was a very proper cat with a very long tail. She loved to play with string and at night she would always make sure I was tucked into bed by sitting on me for a snuggle as I fell asleep. I’ll miss her very much while I treasure her memory in my heart.
