Today we celebrate our trades men and women. They work hard to make sure our amenities work and we life in a safe environment. Often their work goes unnoticed, buried in the wall or underfoot.
My father was a tradesmen. Awarded to be the best refrigeration repairman in Hamilton many years in a row, he was reliable and hard-working. He told be that the average tradesman nowadays is around 50 years of age! Many young people don’t see this line of work as flashy or high paying. Well it’s not flashy but it can be high paying. If your good at your work you’ll be set for life! Plus the education may not be as expensive as some degrees and masters for desk jobs. In any case, it’s a good line of work. My Dad always said that if you want to be set for a steady and economy proof job; do something people will always need. Well, people will always need something fixed.
